Brighton & Hove Air Quality Action Plan, October 2015

B&HCC have recently published a 109 page Air Quality Action Plan. click here to see the report. Rottingdean already is in an Air Quality Management Area (AQMA) as it exceeds EU air pollution legal limits.

The following table taken from the report, is entitled “Hierarchy of AQMA Streets: Emission/Available volumetric Street Space.” Rottingdean High Street is No 1:

    We also have a problem with noise pollution – especially from motor cycles roaring into and out of Brighton via Preston Road; also a problem with some instances of excessive speed as vehicles (cars and motorbikes) northbound through Preston Village north of the traffic light at the junction with Preston Drove. Speed cameras could and should be installed. §
